Celebrating NATO Scrambles Match 2017

Once again, for the third year running, Sewell’s Point Golf Course hosted our Celebrating NATO Scrambles on 21 April 2017.

Five teams (20 players) with seasoned golfers as well as potential new members (!) had a lot of fun in this event, once again organized by Dan St-Cyr.

The golf course was in great shape and the weather was fabulous – a hot day with temperatures towards 90 F and a big afternoon shower to initially cool us all down a bit, then significantly increasing the air humidity! But all in all a gorgeous day on a great golf course.

Scores were amazingly low, ranging from 61 net to 57 net by the winning team of Royce and Matt Brand, Kathy and Joergen Hansen-Nord. Runners up were Dan St-Cyr, Sam Perreault, Greg MacDonald and Victor Lopez with a net score of 58.

Karen Hutchison and Greg MacDonald took the prizes for closest to the pin – both of them producing absolute quality shots, so well deserved.

Karen also won the prize for ‘closest to the center line’ with a shot that ended up approximately 6 inches from the line – another amazing shot by Karen.

This was a great day for all participants at our home course. A warm thank you to Tom Dozier the Manager and Head Pro for all the support and for donating the prizes to the winning team. And once again a warm thank you to Dan for organizing another excellent day out for our members.
