AGA ‘Hot Putter Match 2017’

Once again Eagle Haven Golf Course hosted our “Hot Putter” match on Sunday 7 May.  The course was in good condition after some very heavy rain the week prior, and the greens were in great condition having been aerated some 4-5 weeks earlier.  And on the day the Sun shone on us from a clear, blue sky!

Up for grabs was the 2017 “Hot Putter” title.  We also had a Stableford Points competition and two NTP challenges, on holes number 5 and 12.

First and foremost the Hot Putter Results…..for the Runner Up we had a three-way tie between Greg MacDonald, Rod Noble, and Fabien Deynes, all with 29 puts. On the count-back Rod and Fabien were tied with 16 puts on the last nine holes, but in the end Fabien took the Runner Up prize with 10 puts on the last six holes.

Beating them to the title with 28 putts was our ‘Hot Putter’ for 2017 –  our Captain, Joergen Hansen-Nord. Having been the runner-up in both 2015 and 2016 he was very happy to finally have a win in this competition!

Fabien is obviously very happy with his Runner-Up prize

The Stableford competition proved to be very close yet again.  Our newest member Jon Millington, playing in his very first AGA competition, took first prize with 40 Points followed by the Runner Up, Kathy Hansen-Nord with 39 points. Our Canadian friends Rodney Noble and Greg MacDonald both came in with 38 Stableford Points.  Well done to all of you for some great golf.

Jon Millington, our newest member, winning his first AGA event – well done, and welcome to the AGA!

The closest-to-pin challenge proved that Kathy was really ‘zeroed-in’ – she took both prizes for closest-to-pin on holes 5 and 12! Very well done, Kathy!

Kathy with her two prizes for Closest to Pin – and a very proud husband!

Thank you to all who took part in this fun event – and we hope to see you at our next event on Memorial Day on Bide-a-Wee GC.
